We had a great experience working with Nicholson & Sun as our green home builder. We began the process to buy a house in Asheville, NC from the other side of the country. Their team is organized, thoughtful, and easy to work with, which made the entire process feel manageable from start to finish.

What stood out most is how they build green homes and net zero homes without treating sustainability like a luxury add-on. The house is comfortable, energy-efficient, and clearly designed to perform better than traditional-built homes over time.

They also did an excellent job walking us through the home’s green features after completion, which made owning a high-performance home feel straightforward instead of overwhelming. We contracted with Donald and his team to build a cottage on our farm. We were incredibly pleased with the result - on time, on budget and great workmanship. This is not our first home build but it was our most successful. The project management and communication couldn’t have been any better. In addition, their knowledge about green building practices and solar made it easy to build a zero energy home.

This was our first time buying new construction, and we were ecstatic to have the opportunity to have a certified net-zero solar powered home. The project flowed easily step by step, and the finished product is superb. The Nicholson team takes great pride in their work and pursuing energy efficient and affordable design. This is one solid, tight, and quiet home, and the system that delivers heat/ AC and fresh air is at the cutting edge. Don, Dan and their whole crew responded to our every concern and question quickly and efficiently. We really could not ask for more, and we highly recommend them.

Building a house is no simple undertaking and finding the right team to do it is equally challenging. We are so fortunate we found Nicholson and Sun and they took on our project.

Don and his team completed my home July 2023 - everything was seamless in terms of the process from picking out the lot location, to selecting the different customizations and scheduling the walk through, inspection, etc. He provided me updates and options in terms of ways I could optimize the house which I greatly appreciated! I love my new net zero house and absolutely love the efficiency and thoughtfulness that was put into creating this space. Build was on time as promised with no delays. I was out of state during the construction but still felt very close to the project as I had my own access to a live stream camera on the build 24/7 and we had several check in meetings along the way to discuss any questions or concerns I had. Highly recommend Nicholson and Sun!

We wanted to build an exceptionally efficient home with a family builder . The Nicholson group is knowledgeable and creative when meeting the needs of future home building.
